A lot iof people do find Christmas isn't what they want it to be girls. This year I bit the bullet and suggested to all the grownups that we stop exchanging presents now and that way we could get wanted for ourselves if we wanted to! Everyone seemed really relieved and delighted and so the pressure is off for us now. We just buy for the grandchildren and each other. It just takes one brave soul to start the ball rolling! Or you could say, no more pressies but you will be donating to a charty instead? Also- Alan and i are going away to CenterParks this year, so no food buying either this year-it's bliss! YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

It's quite nice in a way to go to the shops, it puts me in a festive mood, but not if it's too crowded. I'm in the festive mood now, we had our carol concert on Saturday, with mulled wine and mince pies after, followed by a party at a friend's house. When we came home the snow was falling, and the roads were very icy.
I've stayed in today, too scared of slipping to venture out.

I LOVE Christmas. Got the silly Santa hat. Done the shopping, wrapped the pressies. Lots of beautiful cards. Trimmed the sitting room. People are NICE at Christmas - especially if you smile at them Love it, love it, love it ......... Baaaah Humbug to those that don't Ann Monty "I cannot do everything. I accept that. Well, I must be another saddo too, as I love Christmas, always have. I know I find it harder to shop now - M & S was manic today in the Food bit, but everyone seemed to be on good terms, the bags were being packed by young swimmers from Durham ASC, and the carols were playing. I always hope Christmas can work its magic everywhere - too much to hope for, I know. Midnight Mass is the best Mass of the year, though sadly now in our parish, not at midnight. When the crib is blessed, and a little girl or boy places the infant Jesus in the manger, and the little ones all sing Away in A Manger I get a lump in my throat. Kathleen x

I went up to London today to do some shopping. It was ok early this morning but by 1pm was getting a nightmare. Then it poured with rain, and by the time the train got to Tottenham Hale the rain had turned to heavy snow. Still, I managed to get quite a bit of shopping done. Hopefully , weather permitting,we're going to hear Handel's Messiah at St Martin in the Fields tomorrow evening. I'm really looking ofrward to it as it's the first concert I've been to since being dx. I love Christmas, too

Dear Chris,
That is a huge gathering for Christmas! The family being together should be what it is all about. Sorry that you have to wait for the result of your scan. Lets hope that it is good news and something easily treated.
